The diverse range of studies presented in this volume underscores that periodicals were far more than mere repositories of information; they functioned as the vital lifelines of intellectual and spiritual continuity for Muslim communities across the Balkans. By documenting the multifaceted experiences of the Bosniak, Albanian, and Turkish minorities between 1945 and 1990, this collective work illustrates the profound resilience of Islamic thought in the face of ideological coercion and systemic silence. Whether navigating the 'controlled tolerance' of Yugoslavia or surviving the total prohibitions of the Albanian regime, these publications served as essential instruments for soft resistance, identity preservation, and social education. Ultimately, this book provides a critical lens through which to re-examine a neglected chapter of European cultural history, restoring the voices of those who, through the written word, ensured that their religious and cultural heritage would endure for future generations.
